Alex’s Picks: All you have to know about BASICS

Howdy! I suppose a blog like this should be in order in case you happen to be a BASICS collector like me.

Everybody knows BASICS as the store full of cheap, starcoin clothes, versatile and easy to be styled. Welp, since the store itself is pretty old, I managed to find pictures on the internet. Don’t judge me for that.

Currently, there are two releases which has gone rare and can be found only in the bazaar. And by rare, I really mean they are rare. And despite the fact that only two collections have been released in the bazaar, the two of them contain around 360 standalone items!!

Crazy right?

The first BASICS collection has been released in 2009, so pretty much 9 years ago. Why is it so popular…? Well…I bet a lot of people hang on these stuff for their rarity, I bet they gained popularity only after they went rare. I can’t confirm though.

The store contained these two floors.

Again, I apologize for the poor picture quality. To make it easier for you, these are the items you can find in both pics:

1st Picture: Denim Shorts, Body Suits, Capri Pants, Boatneck Tops, Mini Skirts, Tube Dresses, Canvas Bags and Flip Flops.

2nd Picture: Harem Pants, Shirts, Biker Shorts, Belted Dresses, Tube Tops, Hot Pants and Ballet Flats.

There’s a total of 15 different kind of items. They’re also available in 12 different colors: WHITE, BEIGE, LEMON, LIME, TURQUOISE, BABY BLUE, LAVENDER, LIGHT PINK, PINK, CORAL, APRICOT and RED.

This means a total of 180 items. Well…good luck collecting these! XD

Now, onto the second rare collection! This was supposedly released in 2012 or around this year. My first Stardoll account which got deleted for inactivity was made around this year…my first BASICS were Fuchsia and Red Basic Bandeau Dresses *^*

Anyways, take a look at the stores!

Shitty quality. Again. Lemme enlighten you about the contents of each picture.

1st Picture: Jeans, Over-Shoulder Tops, Bandeau Dresses, Bandeau Tops, Basic Skirts, Short Shorts, Tights and Bucket Bags.

2nd Picture: Maxi Skirts, V-Neck Shirts, Crop Tops, Tank Tops, Leggings, Oxfords and Basic Flats.

This collection includes 15 items as well, available in 12 colors: White, Nude, Yellow, Light Pink, Fuchsia, Red, Purple, Navy, Blue, Light Blue, Gray and Black.

This means a total of another 180 items to hunt for. The original prices are cheap, but you could get them either really cheap for as less as 2 sc, either feel the need to rob a bank and pay 600 sc each. Or if you’re lucky…find a balance.

In my opinion, the most popular BASICS items are the Tank Tops and the Mini Skirts, they’re hunted like crazy.

Now, we shall talk about the collections which are still available!

BASICS have changed a little their style, and the only one which mentioned their ‘old-school’ apparel is this one:

Three solid floors of BASICS. They kept the appearance of the previous store, with a few exceptions and …a bit boring colors. But they certainly can be useful.

The set contains 15 types of clothing, following as such:

  • Basic Leggings – 40 sc
  • Basic Tights – 38 sc
  • Basic Fitted Dress – 50 sc
  • Basic Short Top – 40 sc
  • Basic Ballet Flats – 15 sc
  • Basic Long Skirt – 52 sc
  • Basic Denim Skirt – 45 sc
  • Basic Elegant Blouse – 42 sc
  • Basic Tank Top – 37 sc
  • Basic Booties – 25 sc
  • Basic Skinny Jeans – 43 sc
  • Basic Bra – 19 sc
  • Basic Frilled Shirt – 47 sc
  • Basic High Waist Shorts – 38 sc
  • Basic Tote – 22 sc

They’re all available in 12 colors too: White, Sand, Lion, Orange, Redwood, Orchid, Byzantium, Plum, Violet, Cobalt, True Blue and Black.

Now, let’s make a sum, how much sc you’d need to buy all of these. I strongly advise that if you want to get all BASICS, start with store-bought ones. It will be hard to get them later when they go rare.

TOTAL SUM: 6636 sc. That’s how much sc I have wasted on this store xD I regret nothing.

Sometimes after, two new items have been released on the last floor called Modest Male and Female Bodysuits, 62 sc each. I used them in making those starcoin mannequins if you remember my older DIY blog.

Now, onto the next collection. Stardoll has released a Black and White one in 2014, and it’s kind of obvious it’s only one floor. Quite disappointing, but the clothes are easily styled at least.

Those Tennis Sneakers are available only on White, for some reason. Anyways!

  • Cut in Two Trousers – 45 sc
  • Lace Dress – 58 sc
  • Pleated Skirt – 50 sc
  • Mariniere Pull – 48 sc
  • T Shirt – 40 sc
  • Zip Jeans – 55 sc
  • Elegant Top – 45 sc
  • Jersey Mini Skirt – 55 sc
  • Asymmetrical Top – 38 sc
  • Satchel Bag – 25 sc
  • Trendy Sneakers – 35 sc
  • Chelsea Boots – 30 sc

It’s a less expensive collection, true, but at least they’re easy to style.

TOTAL SUM: 1013 sc.

The blog is getting pretty long but bear with me.

This collection was added in 2015 and it kind of innovated the whole store, adding male clothes. The graphics have increased tremendously, but sadly there are available only four colors: Sand, Stone, Shell and Khaki. At least they look really good, right?

MALE ARTICLES

  • Basic Boy Tank – 55 sc
  • Canvas Backpack – 120 sc (could work as Unisex)
  • Basic Boy High Tops – 95 sc
  • Basic Boy Shorts – 70 sc
  • Basic Boy Cardigan – 85 sc

FEMALE ARTICLES

  • Basic Knit Cardigan – 90 sc (could work as Unisex)
  • Basic Jersey Snood – 50 sc (could work as Unisex)
  • Slouchy Basic Tank – 50 sc
  • Basic Spring Romper – 75 sc
  • Basic Short Shorts – 60 sc
  • Basic Suede Sandals – 110 sc
  • Basic Skater Dress – 150 sc

I must say all of these look good. A shame more colors aren’t available. Now let’s see the sum!

TOTAL SUM: 4040 sc. Holy shit.

Now, let’s move onto the newest and latest collection BASICS has ever come to know!

The clothes look really well, though it kind of lacks male defined articles. I could spot some unisex stuff but that’s it. Anyways, they are available in Red, Gray, Blue and Black.

  • Belted Waist Jumpsuit – 130 sc
  • Gathered Waist Frill Mini Skirt – 110 sc
  • Ribbed Mock Neck T-Shirt – 120 sc
  • Classic Crossover Skirt – 120 sc
  • Silk Cami – 95 sc
  • Chiffon Frill Blouse – 100 sc
  • Basic Zip Hoodie – 130 sc
  • Everyday Tote Bag – 80 sc
  • Halter Neck Classic Dress – 130 sc
  • Classic V-Neck Tshirt – 100 sc
  • Silk Drawstring Short – 110 sc
  • Faux Suede Platforms – 110 sc

Sadly, prices went up just as the quality did. I managed to get them all, let’s see how much sc have I wasted, and how much will you do if you decide to follow my path.

TOTAL SUM: 5340 sc!

Well…this would be it. These are all the BASICS from 2009 and up until now. What do you think? What’s your favorite collection, or at least your most wanted item? Tell us in the comments *^*

Archive vs Original Anomaly

Okay so this is an atypical blog which I would have rather written at least a few weeks ago. I don’t even know in what category to fit this! Anyways. From all my Stardoll experience, I have found out that this game has quite a few …anomalies. Or mistakes and glitches which don’t really affect your gameplay. But it will make you go….like the guy in the featured image.

#Clickbait

Whatever. The story starts with me going through the Archive shop in the Bazaar, looking for my precious Gladiator Sandals in my wishlist (which I found and bought), when this wild dress appeared.

rare

Celine Long Dress, rare as fuck, bought with 9 sd and sold with 600 sd. Guess what:

Screenshot (4).png

I have no idea if this was a glitch, but Stardoll has released a really limited bunch of items. A few Fudges, in starcoins, blah blah blah. And I found this in RIO Chicas. I got it, 5 sd for me, maybe 6 sd without the 10& Royalty discount, I said hey: this is a good deal!

Well it was a good deal. The original price was 9 sd, the selling price is high as fuck, and I can’t find it in Starplaza anymore either. I suppose it was a glitch…maybe they wanted to add a different item and added this id by mistake, I have no idea. But I must say I loooove this mistake :3

And in case you’re wondering…I photoshopped the picture (like I could do such a realistic edit), that I bought this when it appeared and now I decided to go all out Illuminati….here’s the transaction history.

Nice eh? I personally think that it was worth it, even tho the dress is getting dusty in my wardrobe. Well see you next time with a no-clickbait blog!

Behind The Brand: Chanel

Hey guys! It’s me Sumy and today I’m going to be starting a new series called ‘Behind The Brand’ where we’ll be looking at famous labels and getting some info out of it. To begin with, we’ll be focusing on Chanel! Let’s get started!

Camera

The trademark was founded by Coco Chanel (Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel) in 1910. At first, Chanel designed corseted silhouettes in the post World War I for women. Being a high prolific designer, Chanel went beyond couture clothing and found an interest in jewellery, handbags and fragrance. Her iconic perfume, Chanel No.5 became a well-known product.

The current CEO is Alex Wertheimer since February 2016. The head creative director is Karl Lagerfeld who is also the head creative director of the Italian house Fendi.

The logo was designed in 1925 by Coco Chanel herself and has not been changed since. The interlocking CC means Coco Chanel and is one of the most recognizable logos in the fashion industry.

Well, I hope your day is on point. Which brand do you want to see next?

Bye!

Busting Callie’s Picks #2 – Bustier Dress

Okay if you’re not a particular pink lover, you may feel the need to skip this post. The dress was added in starcoins with issue No. 84, Think Pink.

no 84

That extremely pink collection which came with the Breast Cancer Awareness event. Cute. This is the dress.

And I bet you would not be surprised at all to hear that the dress belongs to Pretty N Love.

What I am surprised however, is that they switched currencies from sd to sc. That’s strange because they’d rather do vice versa. However it’s a really good bargain. What do you think? Was it worth to spend your starcoins on it? I personally love it, but as I have the original I will stick to that. :3
